What is Cyber Crime???
Cyber crime generally means a wrongful act committed using computer as a tool or a target of the said act or both.

The Department of Justice categorizes computer crime in three ways:

  • The computer as a target - attacking the computers of others (spreading viruses is an example).
  • The computer as a weapon - using a computer to commit "traditional crime" that we see in the physical world (such as fraud or illegal gambling).
  • The computer as an accessory - using a computer as a "fancy filing cabinet" to store illegal or stolen information.
Generally, below are the acts which may likely amount to cyber crimes in many countries:

1. Unauthorised access
- accessing to a protected website or system without permission.
2. Email bombing
- sending a large amount of mail to cause the targeted email account (in the case of individual) or mail server (in the case of mail service provider) crashing.
3. Data didling
- changing of a raw data just before the same being process by the system and change it back after the system has processed it.
 4. Internet time theft
-stealing one’s time to use his internet services.
5. Virus/worm attack
- virus attack is deleting or amending one’s date in a system. Worm attack is copying one’ data and repeats it till the disk’s space is full.
6. Trojan attack
-an unauthorized program which functions from inside what seems to be an authorized program, thereby concealing what it is actually doing. For instant, the attack may make you can’t access to youtube.
7. Cyber pornography
- not only means online porn but also include using computer to produce pornographic magazine.
8. Cyber stalking
- following a person’s movements across the Internet by posting messages (sometimes threatening) on the bulletin boards frequented by the victim, entering the chat-rooms frequented by the victim, constantly bombarding the victim with emails etc.
Therefore, please behave yourself when you are using the internet, you may not know when you have committed an offence in other countries.
